Tish Cyrus has found love withDominic Purcell.

Though the couple has shared a look at their love story on social media over the years, Cyrus recently dished about how their relationship started during an appearance onCall Her Daddy.

Cyrus said that when she watchedPrison Breakwith her daughters Miley and Brandi she was always Team Lincoln while her kids were Team Michael. “I was like, ‘No, he is freaking dangerous and I love it.’”
She added that she used to joke that Purcell was her “hall pass” (a joking term for the person with whom you could cheat on your significant other with no consequences) when she was married to Billy Ray.
Tish Cyrus slid into Dominic Purcell’s DMs
Also during the podcast, Cyrus revealed that Purcell had DMed her on Instagram back in 2016, but she didn’t see the message at the time. It wasn’t until years later, following her divorce from Billy Ray, that a friend encouraged her to slide into his DMs.
Cyrus recalled that her opening line was about the possibility of working together on a new NBCU series; she joked that Purcell was able to read between the lines of her professional message and immediately responded that he’s had a crush on her “forever.”
Miley Cyrus helped Tish Cyrus get ready for their first date
After their flirty exchange, the two made plans to grab lunch together a local pub, where Cyrus said they “made out for like three hours.” While discussing their first date, Cyrus also revealed that her daughter Miley helped her get ready.
“Honestly, I was looking good,” she said. “Miley helped me get dressed.”
“And the rest is history,” her daughter Brandi quipped, to which Cyrus replied, “Yep.”
They said “I love you” after their first date
When asked if she knew Purcell was the person for her right away, Cyrus replied, “Yes.”
Cyrus also revealed that, when she first messaged Purcell and he realized it wasn’t about a show, he told himself out loud, “Oh, it’s on.”
After their first date, things moved pretty fast; the two exchanged “I love yous” the next day.
“He was like, ‘Yeah, I love ya,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, I love you too,’” she recalled. “And after that, it was just on.”
They went public with their relationship in November 2022
About seven months after announcing her divorce from Billy Ray,Cyrus went Instagram official with Purcellin November 2022. Alongside a photo of her and Purcell embracing while sitting poolside, she wrote, “Thanks for the cute photo @vijatm,” adding a red heart emoji and tagging Purcell.
She later posted a quote that read, “In God’s perfect timing, everything will turn out right!” Adding her own words, Tish wrote, “Sometimes that’s hard to believe but it is so TRUE.”

Whilespeaking withVogueabout their relationship, Cyrus revealed that Purcell popped the question during Thanksgiving in 2022, and had some help from her daughter Miley for the special event.
“Dom, along with Miley, planned the entire thing,” she told the publication. “They knew we would all be together as a family and thought it would be the perfect time!”
The couple publicly announced their engagementin April 2023 as Cyrus shared a photo of her ring on Instagram. “A thousand times…. YES ❤️ @dominicpurcell,” she wrote at the time.

On Aug. 19, 2023,Cyrus and Purcell got marriedin a small Malibu, California, ceremony, which took place in her daughter Miley’s backyard. “It was like I was in a fairy tale,” Cyrus toldVogueof the wedding. “The most romantic fairy tale you could ever imagine.”
Shortly after,she shared a sweet photoof her posing with Purcell at their wedding, writing, “8.19.23 married my best friend and it was magical 💗 @dominicpurcell,” to which the actor commented, “Love of my life. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
Tish Cyrus’ children were part of her wedding party
As Cyrus and Purcell tied the knot in August 2023, three of her children were part of the wedding ceremony, including her son Trace and her daughters Brandi and Miley who served as bridesmaids.
Miley also had the special honor of walking her mother down the aisle. “To stand beside my mother and give her away to Dom is a moment I will cherish for the rest of my life,” Miley shared.
“To see my mom this happy and in love is very emotional for me,” she said, adding that the newlyweds “share the sweetest, most genuine love.”
The “Flowers” singercontinued: “It’s almost like it’s for the first time, which is so fitting for my mom who is such a young soul. Since they met, they both started aging in reverse. Somehow, my mom has gotten even more beautiful.”
