Bradley Haas, a security guard who was killed after confronting a shooter at a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire, is being remembered as a “hero” who dedicated his life to public service.
An autopsy determined he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his manner of death was homicide, theAG’s office said.
On Saturday, New Hampshire Homeland Security and Emergency Management issued astatementabout Haas' death, describing how the security officer was heroic in facing the shooter and preventing further harm.

“On behalf of all members of the New Hampshire Department of Safety, I extend our sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Security Officer Bradley Haas,” Commissioner Robert L. Quinn said.

“Officer Haas was a dedicated member of the safety team who died a hero protecting the patients and staff of New Hampshire Hospital,” he added. “Our hearts ache at this loss.”
