Machine Gun Kellywants to go to Hyrule.
After Nintendo announced Tuesday that it isdeveloping a live-action moviebased on its popular video-game seriesThe Legend of Zelda,Kelly — whose real name is Colson Baker — shared a screengrab of an article to his Instagram Story and said he would like to star in the movie.
“if I don’t play Link we have a problem,” Kelly, 33, wrote in acaption on the post, referencing the video-game series' protagonist.

The film’s announcement came roughly seven months after Nintendo releasedThe Super Mario Bros. Movie, whichmade over $1 billion worldwideand is the second-highest grossing movie of the year in the United States and globally, afterBarbie.
Nintendo’s legendary game designer andLegend of Zeldaco-creator Shigeru Miyamoto revealed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) Tuesday that theZeldamovie project has been in the works for some time.
“I have beenworking on the live-action film ofThe Legend of Zeldafor many years now with Avi Arad-san, who has produced many mega hit films,” wrote Miyamoto, 70, who will serve as producer for the movie.

The release added, “By getting deeply involved in the movie production with the aim to put smiles on everyone’s faces through entertainment, Nintendo will continue its efforts to produce unique entertainment and deliver it to as many people as possible.”
The game franchise centers around Link, an elf-like warrior whose various incarnations appear to help Zelda save the kingdom of Hyrule from the games' principal villain, Ganon.
Aside from Ball’s announcement as director, Nintendo did not release any more information concerning writers or casting decisions for the upcomingLegend of Zeldamovie Tuesday.
It is unclear when the studio plans to release the film.
