It ’s April 10 , 2017 , and you jazz what that means . Yes , it ’s the 276th anniversary of the Battle of Mollwitz ( everybody knows that ) , but it also happen to be Leon Kowalski ’s birthday . Well , Leon ’s origin day to be precise . Who ’s Leon Kowalski ? He ’s a replicant from the classical 1982 sci - fi pic Blade Runner .
For those of you who have n’t seen the flick , Blade Runner stars Harrison Ford and take post in the utopian world of 2019 . Ford act a vane runner — someone tax with hunt down and “ retiring ” scalawag replicants ( humanoid robot ) like Leon .

Leon is the first replicant we see in the celluloid . He ’s being consecrate a Voight - Kampff test , which let humanity to be capable to say the difference between replicants and other humans .
Here in the year 2017 we have standardized trial , but they do n’t have nerveless names like Voight - Kampff and they ’re given to humankind much more regularly than they are in the 1982 movie .
Leon eventually liberate himself from his human captors ( spoiler alert ) but sadly he meets a grisly end . ( Despite being a more utopian and optimistic vision of Los Angeles in the future than it is today , Blade Runner does have its moments of violence . )

The film is prepare in 2019 , so Leon is just two years old , having been created on April 10 , 2017 . Happy inception engagement Leon ! outride safe out there and watch out for vane runners !
