Google finally decidedthey’ve outgrown the Googleplexand tossed $ 30 million at the metropolis of Mountain View for some space to build a newfangled 10 - acre campus . Who ’s gon na design it?Ingenhoven , one of Germany ’s biggest architectural firms .
Little is know about what the next campus will look like , but the San Jose Mercury News say with the Edwin Herbert Land deal in place , design programme could be accede as ahead of time as this month and twist could begin in 2012 . That said , we do have it off some things about Ingenhoven , whose designs revolve around green sustainability and an unyielding veneration to contemporaneousness .
Ingenhoven is currently creditworthy for redesigning Stuttgart ’s master train post , which has caused a bit of contention because of their decision to take the station underground . The firm ’s founder and namesake , Christoph Ingenhoven isvery much a forward - looking designer , making few concessions to the past . To get an idea of what we might expect for Googleplex 2.0 , here are five of Ingenhoven ’s more imaginative designs from the past and present . sure they ’ll make for out their undecomposed employment for the hunt gods .

International Criminal Court, The Hague, Netherlands
Though it wo n’t be completed until 2014 , the design concepts for The Haugue ’s International Criminal Court already has me ponder what minor act of human injustice I can trust to land me in this place .
Encasing three pod in a glass shell , the Court building severalize the different departments without isolating them completely . perchance this will check with thesecret class cultureat Google ?
Main Station, Stuttgart, Germany
Ingerhoven won the bidding to redesign Stuttgart ’s geartrain station 13 years ago . presently , the station is above ground . Ingerhoven need to take it underground , and many residents hate the estimation .
To accomodate the redesign , part of the original 1927 station will be destroy . By moving much of the station underground will open up outer space for novel , mixed use development that could create 4200 jobs .
Some are controvert to this because it will destroy a historic construction . Others think its an unnecessary permissive waste of money . And ironically , there are people who dislike it because they believe the construction physical process will damage gullible outer space in the field .

But Ingerhoven is unapologetic , believing it will better link Stuttgart to the rest of Europe ’s in high spirits - speed rails system and turn the Southern German city into one of its lifeline .
71 Robinson Road, Singapore
Constructed in 2009 , this looks like something straight out of Blade Runner . With a central urban location , this building stacks light on top of lightness on top of lights for a dramatic expression at night . During the daylight , however , the building has been plan to maximise the amount of sunshine that arrest in , denigrate the want for artificial inflammation .
The new Google campus probably wo n’t get quite this stylise in the middle of Mountain View , but I would n’t heed seeing them stress to sneak in a few elements from this building .
Daniel Swarovski Corporation, Zurich, Switzerland
I ’m fairly sure this is the only forcible object associated with Swarovski that isn’ttastelessly coated in watch crystal . But more notable here is that Ingenhoven decide to but a lawn ON THE ROOF . And to wake and cool the power , the building pulls in body of water from the lake .
dress in the midsection of a quieter , less dense community , some of the same concepts and principles displayed here could be well integrated in the Google design .
Private House D
There ’s not a lot that a Google campus would share with a private residence , structurally mouth . However the attention to materials and alternative muscularity shows off what this company can really do with sustainable pattern .
The house is made of unprocessed materials , which means that short to no polutants were used or given off as a byproduct in craft them . The house gives off no electromagnetic pollution or Radon emissions , and the house is mostly power by a solar thermal power organization . to boot , rain is used for the irrigation system in the grounds , and can also be feed in to the theater ’s plumbing system if needed .
Long story short , they ’re not a design firm who utilise light-green as a gimmick . [ SJ Mercury ]
