All of the monsters in this laggard do reckon CG fantastic — so if you do n’t like CG villain , too spoilt for you .
On the plus side , the evil crone Mother Malkin is played by the sensational Julianne Moore . Who is looking all sorts of evil , in a great way . Jeff Bridges is disgorge as her grand curse the “ spook ” John Gregory ( Jeff Bridges ) . Who trains the main character reference Tom Ward ( Ben Barnes ) — a casting decision that has aged up this graphic symbol quite a turn .
The plot is simple : The witch escapes , and it ’s up to John and Tom to beguile her again . All the while learning everything about magic , plus a few moral lesson about monsters . This is the very first footage we are ever seeing of this adaption — so fans of the serial , what do you think ? Do you like it ?
