Willed into being by visual artistBart Jansenand technological engineer Arjen Beltman , the OstrichCopter is ( manifestly ) a completely custom construction . After some calling around , the pair found a local farm willing to donate an ostrich corpse that could be taxidermied and outfitted with a few new machinelike appendages . The result is a entire wildcat , weighing in at a humongous 46 pound . But the sucker can fly ; take that , springy ostriches .
Why would anyone ever do this ? Jansen summed it up fairly well toWired UK : “ I thought it was really funny to make aviate a raspberry that ca n’t [ fly ] . ” Haha .
