We were golden enough to sit down with Doctor Who adept David Tennant , plus executive manufacturer Julie Gardner , ( re)creator Russell T. Davies and director Euros Lynn , along with a smattering of other reporters . We ’ll station more of their answers to our searing questions next hebdomad , but here ’s the breaking news show . First of all , Tennant and Gardner importune that there ’s no news show about a possible Doctor Who movie , and they require to damp down speculation that tomorrow ’s Who panel will let in some sort of announcement . I think he feels shamed . I remember he ’s in a very difficult position . He has to make the laborious alternative , and he ’s riddle with remorse for what occur to his people , and the part he toy in that , which we ’ll learn a short snatch more about before I disappear . [ Laughs ] Not that much , just a little bit . It ’s not the three - part miniseries staring [ former nineties MD ] Paul McGann . But I think he ’s excruciate , and he travels time and space trying to make it well … but some of the side effects of that are not as we ’d bid them to be .
And Tennant admit for the first time that season three ’s villiain , John Simm really is come back . During the filming , says Gardner , “ Every day there was a new goodbye of some sort to someone . ”
Tennant also tell :
The final history are very emotional … The story takes you to places that the Doctor ca n’t go on a regular fundament . It affords an chance to confront this immutable fibre with newfangled challenge and places you could only take him when that gentleman is going to croak , that interlingual rendition of that military man is go to die .
