No , this is n’t an alternate Waterworld costume for Dennis Hopper - it ’s Miroslav Tichy , posing with one of his awe-inspiring trash River Cam , which he manufacture from paper towel tube , thread spools , rubber band and other bits of detritus and has used since the fifties . Now in his 80s , Tichy and his deeds have only lately ( as far as the artistic production globe goes ) been discovered . And like all full photographers , he trained his intentionally imperfect camera trailer truck on the considerably more urbane female form .
A little more analogue than theamazing HD trash projectors we ’ve see to it , but that ’s precisely the point ; Tichy described his codswallop cams as being the only way to add enough poetical imperfection to photography , describing his philosophy with the fantastic maxim : “ If you want to be famous , you have to do whatever you ’re doing bad than anyone else in the whole macrocosm . ”
His subject matter was mostly veritable folks in his small Czech town doing what they do , and of course he gravitate toward the ladies , who appear great in Tichy ’s proto - Lomography style .

There ’s currently an exhibition of Tichy ’s oeuvre at theCentre Pompidouin Paris that look marvellous . fit it out if you ’re in the vicinity . [ The Online Photographer , Tichyocean.ch , Centre PompidouviaKottke ]
