An Australian politico has been caught in a fearful Twitter malicious gossip . But unlike American political scandals , this one has nothing to do with him wagging his scribble at young women a la Anthony Weiner .
Instead , the politician got caught fave - ing a pro - human rights tweet . This was seen as a big no - no by his government since it involved China , Australia ’s largest deal partner . But much like American Twitter malicious gossip , the politician is claiminghe was hack .
Scott Morrison , the Australian Liberal Party ’s Treasurer , late faved ( or “ like ” if you favour ) a tweet that linked out to an clause about China ’s human rights record . The article inThe Conversation , titled “ Turnbull ’s sojourn present an important chance to press China on human rights , ” describes the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull ’s coming visit to China .

The article explicitly calls on Turnbull to talk with the Formosan government about not just barter and economic policy , but alsohuman rights :
Turnbull can and should urge on China ’s government to stop unlawfully abducting Chinese citizens and others beyond its perimeter and end the unprecedented onslaught on civil society . He should in public call on the authorities to lift limitation on the internet and stop the state of matter ’s persecution of bloggers for free language .
Morrison accept to Twitter to insinuate that his account was cut . Or , at least , “ accessed by someone wildcat to do so , ” whatever that means .

“ We ’re inquire . There was absolutely no purpose behind it , ” a spokesperson for Morrison toldBuzzfeed Australia .
Are faves endorsements ? Apparently in Australia they are . And judge by a late defamation opinion against a newspaper publisher involving another Liberal Party phallus , Joe Hockey , free speech is n’t exactly alert and well down under either .
The court rule against Fairfax Media because of a tweet implying that the former Treasurer was “ for sale , ” because he view as fundraiser event . Hockey objected to the tweet and was awarded $ 200,000 in damages . Notably , Australia is the only Western democracy that does n’t have some built-in guarantee of free speech .

Maybe Fairfax Media should ’ve claimed they were cut up .
