For years , artist Robert Ball has made posters that commemorate themajesty of end . With the support of HBO itself , Ball has been creating post-horse in a series called “ Beautiful Death ” , with each original illustration bringing rich artistry to the delineation of one destruction from Game of Thrones .
Now , with the end of the serial publication approaching , we ’re also approaching the end of Ball ’s series . Over atMaking Game of Thrones , they ’re have the first of Ball ’s placard .
The first deathof the seasonto be immortalize is that of Ned Umber , whose grisly fate at the Last Hearth was the inspiration for a lush illustration juxtapose the Night King ’s harshness with the temporary idylls of Jon and Daenerys .

Ball told do Game of Thrones , “ I desire to show the wider impact of the last and the subject matter from the Night King , by blame up a theme from the sequence that younker and happiness , and Jon and Daenerys ’ brief moments together , will ‘ never last . ’ I used an range of Ned Umber from the instalment where he ’s pardon by Jon Snow — arguably set him on the itinerary that led to his end of the world . ”
The result is a lavish , boding poster , one that sends a menacing substance to the show ’s torpedo . Peace is at an end , and winter is issue forth to burn everything down .
