“Randi and I have been friends for some time and I felt that she really gets me,” de Lesseps tells PEOPLE. “We think alike and I trust her with taking my dreams to heart and creating the perfect wedding gown as well as my two other special dresses to celebrate Tom’s birthday and New Year’s Eve.”
But she did shop around a little before settling on Rahm. Even though they’re friends, “that’s not why she picked me as her dress designer,” Rahm tells PeopleStyle. “She went to other people. I actually had what she wanted. She always said that if she got married she would want something from me. But she definitely shopped and I’m just so happy she chose me. It makes it even more special.”
And she couldn’t be happier to design all three dresses for the wedding. “What’s wonderful about Luann and the occasion is that it’s a triple header,” says Rahm. “It’s a wedding and it’s Tom’s birthday and it’s New Year’s Eve. So we’re going to honor each one with a different dress and a different feeling.”
The first wedding gown for the ceremony will be “bride appropriate” for her. “Because she’s a very elegant dresser. Her look is very stately, elegant, sensual. It’s going to be age-appropriate, body-appropriate for the occasion,” Rahm explains. “And then she’s go into something very ‘happy birthday’ [for Tom], and of course [the third dress] is a very, very elegant New Year’s Eve dress. Very elegant.”

Rahm describes de Lesseps’ personality right now as nothing but pure happiness. “Her dresses will be happy and elegant and match who she is,” Rahm explains. “She keeps saying Tom’s her soulmate and for her to say that is amazing because I’ve been around her for the past couple years and I’ve never seen her glow like this. So whatever else goes on on theHousewives, [her happiness] is really real. She really is extremely happy. You don’t know what happened before or what’s going to happen in the future but right now that’s all I can tell you.”
As for all hernaysayers on the show, Rahm says there’s no doubt she’s in love. “You can’t fake that. She really does love him. He’s a lovely, lovely man.”
For her part, de Lesseps is over-the-moon to be working with Rahm. “She is an amazing designer and her couture work is so special and beautiful,” says de Lesseps. “I’m thrilled to have her as part of my wedding.”
