Actor didn’t lovePercy Jackson 2‘s “Some Like it Cyclops” scenes

The new Percy Jackson motion-picture show , Sea of Monsters , is in theaters tomorrow . And returning in the role of Grover the Satyr is Brandon T. Jackson , who once again supplies a lot of the comedy moment . But there was one comedy sequence in the moving-picture show that he was n’t crazy about doing .

We spoke to Jackson on the headphone the other daylight , and he told us there ’s one episode in the moving-picture show he was n’t super unrestrained about : the part where Grover is captured by Polyphemus the satyr - eating water flea . Grover disguises himself as a distaff water flea , and cooks and cleans for Polyphemus until his supporter finally show up to rescue him .

Jackson felt like this was something that had been done to death . It was n’t drag , incisively , because he does n’t wear lip rouge and cad and full makeup , it was just “ some weird cyclops thing . ” And Jackson feels like other cinema have already “ overplayed ” this comical equipment , like Tootsie and Big Mama ’s House and Sherlock Holmes 2 , so it ’s lose a lot of its comedic power . “ Everyone ’s done it so much [ that ] as a pure comic , it ’s not original any more , ” he tells io9 .

But for little nipper , “ who ’ve never seen that before , ” mayhap it ’s uproarious , adds Jackson . Plus , that subplot is in the books , and kids are go away to await the movie to stick closely to the books .

Jackson has take the first few books , and feels like author Rick Riordan did a groovy job of blending adventure and humor . And he does n’t at all psyche being the comic ministration in the movies . “ I care action comedy . I wish making mass express joy , and doing nerveless stuff and nonsense . ” And in a film franchise , “ we each have our own character to bet . If somebody else is the field general , you arrest ta be the receiving system . ” But he ’s hopeful that he gets to make the third motion picture , where Brandon will come across the god Pan and get some more serious material to make with .
