At first , things could actually be rather beautiful : cosmopolitan auroras ! A brighter Dominicus ! But then thing would rapidly get ugly , with the partitioning of communications , trilled major power outage , and a burning out of the ozone .

But when we count at other stars out there , we see not only solar flare but also the periodic “ superflare”—flares that are not only large , but dwarf everything we ’ve ever seen from our own sun , sometimes up to 10,000 meter the size .
But what if we saw something like that not through the distant , unbiassed middle of the telescope , but right above through our own unaided eyes ?
The mind is not absurd . former studieshave theorized about the possibility and now , a brand young study by Danish physicists has been published inNature Communications . The paper explores the question of whether this is also something that can encounter with our own sun .
The answer : not likely . Almost all the super flare the researchers wait at came from headliner with much stronger charismatic field than our own sun . A minuscule but significant portion ( about 10 percentage ) , however , had magnetic fields of about our own sun ’s size , meaning that the field is at least theoretically warm enough to generate a superflare .
So what would it look like in the unconvincing event that we did get one ?

He sketched out a timeline of what we could carry to see from our Earth - bound perspective — from the planetary auroras , to the equipment failure of our technical school , to the final restoration to normality .
