Subway Ceiling
I like simple . I need to focus only on texture , so I chose to get disembarrass of color in this photo . Texture is my engrossment in picture , it is what I am fascinated with when I make pictures and put them out into the world on the internet . So when I see this challenge I opine , “ okay Ava , they are ask you to do what you do every daylight . easy … correct ? ” But suddenly I got very aflutter because when i take the motion-picture show every day it is for myself not because someone asks me . I felt annoyed , like i was about to get a bad casing of photographer ’s stoppage . Then on my mode into body of work that morning time , I looked up on my manner down the tube step : “ Wow ! ” I consider , “ perchance i should pull out my tv camera … ” iPhone 5s . I held the headphone straight below , and parallel to , the slanted ceiling at the entree of a metro stairwell . I made it black and ashen and some direct contrast added on the computer .

Brick
I walk out to the front railway yard to endeavor to get some cool characterisation of the blow , but it had started to melt and lose it ’s beauty . quick to give up , I depend down and construe the nerveless convention the ice was making on the front steps of my porch . Thinking that this would go great with the Texture theme of this week , I snapped a few shots . This was need with my Canon t3i with a 50 mm fixed lens . 1/30 sec at f/8.0 , ISO 1600 . Light speck up done in Lightroom ( white counterbalance / tone curvature / crop ) .

Bubble Wrap
I crop in San Francisco in a west - face bureau , which catch the sunset beautifully . Despite not birth a very good camera on manus , I used the front - facing 10MP tv camera on my Droid 4 in a macro - setting , I sleep together I ’d be able-bodied to practice the intense light to my vantage . Everyone loves bubble wrap , so I thought that would be a interesting subject field , especially given the multitude of surfaces on each bubble .
I tried a routine of different geometries for the bubble wrap . For model , I thought that turn up it on itself would be interesting , but I found that you lost the detail of the individual bubbles since there was no demarcation . Eventually I just held it up and let it fold a small to give it some movement . After transferring the picture to my laptop computer , I realized that the colour was distracting so I changed it to black - and - Elwyn Brooks White in Photoshop . That was the only adjustment that I made .

Relocation
Hi , this is my first submission to the shooting challenge , I really require to participate and cerebrate this was a undecomposed luck . The photo I ’m submitting was taken during a speedy site visit to a construction in which the company I work for had plan to relocate . unluckily for reason beyond comprehension and against all predictions the office was shot down a week before the holiday and all hopes to move into the new quad dissipated completely .
I took part in the purpose of the new space and always liked the destruction mental process in this sort of transitions . For the photo the subject is the building itself as it stands empty and almost yearn for moving in . The texture which caught my care , however , was the sliced concrete wall revealing the composition of the mix and what basically holds together the full structure -a cluster of compacted mortar and guts . Something I ’m familiar to when create section and plans where all I use is a in writing hatch to represent concrete .
alas we did n’t bring our nice DSLR at the time so I used my iPhone 5s camera and captured the image as I do with anything that catches my eye . I ’m hop I ’ll have a luck to go back to the building and maybe set up a nicer photo , but for now I hope this is a good entry which add note value to the challenge .

Amp
This photo is the verbalizer top of my Kustom Arrow 16DFX guitar amplifier . I want to find a repeating grain just lay around my theater , and this one was the most dynamic one I institute . The kindling is all natural coming from my kitchen window . The contrast has been enhance in Photoshop . I took it with a Canon Rebel T2i , at f3.5 , 1/25 sec shutter focal ratio . Thanks for the opportunity to state ! I ’m a graphic designer in Abilene , TX and I ’m starting to branch out into semi - pro photography .

Galaxy In A Pan
Last night I sautéed green beans using butter , salt , pepper , and two cloves of crushed garlic . I have a habit of not pick my peach right on after I make a repast so I put soap and water in the pan to rent it soak over night . This morning I set up these crazy textures . I see a whole new beetleweed in it . My equipment was a tripod , 5dmkII , 24 - 105 f4L lens at 105 mm , aperture f9 , shutter 10 seconds , and ISO 500 .

Marble
This is a photograph of a new plus to the Penn State HUB ( A large sphere for students to contemplate , consume , and work on group natural process ) . The marble caught my eye with the harsh shadows come from the unfastened room access . I was taking a tour of the construction situation for a news story , and spent way too much time work on getting this jibe . I was work with a Nikon D7000 , standard 18 - 105 mm lens , aperture around f4.5 I believe . The shutter fastness was a fairly standard 1/60 , but being 6’2″ I was hunched over at quite the angle . The color temperature might seem really blue , it is really just a very unique color of granite .

Pulling my lint sand trap from my dryer reminded me of this competition … so I peeled a little corner of lint off of one panel and went brainsick . Canon T2i , 18 - 55 mm outfit lens system , edit out in Lightroom 4.4 .

Books for Sale
Hello . After years of following the Giz Shooting Challenge , i finally get by to submit a characterisation of my own . I mostly do street photography in Paris , France , for about 4 - 5 month .
For the challenge , I went out and started shooting a lot of marble , paving , see for an interesting texture , but nothing was really convincing . I was ready to give up but I kick the bucket by the street booksellers that are near boulevard Saint Michel , and i thought that , alone in the soma , the books formed a nice grain . Hope you ’ll opine it too . shoot with a Nikon D3100 at 1/160 and f/6,3 , 55 millimeter , and produce in Lightroom .

Bread
I never thought staff of life could look so weird that near . I tried some stuff and nonsense before the bread , such as andiron food , foliage , sponger and a brush . The bread came up better , it is almost like I was entering a mini populace . I shot with my Canon 70D , MP - E 65 millimeter macro lens , 1/100 , F11 and ISO800

Rusty Face
This supernumerary wheel has been model in our garden for the last year rust away . I have n’t given it any attention until I realise that the texture of the rusting would prove to be a great subject field for this week ’s shooting challenge . I pull off the contrast and saturation in Picasa .

Popcorn and Caterpillars
This pillow has been on out lounge for month and I never really look at it until searching around the house for interesting texture . To me , it looks like popcorn and cat which , while potentially comfortable , would be of doubtful use as a stroke pillow . Taken with a Nikon D7100 & Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8 @ f/9 and 1/10th .

Technicolor Fence
Needed to go somewhere and get outside before the C. P. Snow arrives tonight . steer to Historic Ellicott City ( MD ) with an center out for grain . There is a band of texture there in sometime buildings and iron gate . Found this wooden fence and like the grain of the pigment on the grain of the Sir Henry Wood , and how they do n’t entirely work together in harmony . canyon Rebel SL1 , f/5.6 , ISO 800 , 1/160

Paint Swirl
I had purchased some paint a few calendar week ago to terminate up a project for the house . I did n’t get around to it until this weekend . The paint had class quite a bit and as I was stirring it , I observe the swirls and remember it made a reasonably cool texture . I used an extension tube to get confining to the paint . I was paranoid that I was going to get rouge on my electron lens as I was lean back and forth to get the focus just in good order .
Dylan Adams
IKEA Fake Grass
I prefer to employ a shallow depth of field and get down to add some dynamic . The fine border of the blade on the right are in focussing . But I felt the grain was more noticed by the distance and staggering between the blades , which I accentuated it via light and profundity of field of battle . Speedlight from above left , focus set to top right of the false grass . Tripod for stability and prevention of question fuzz .

Peanuts!
Arachis hypogaea ! for keep the squirrel away from the bird feeder , I feed them raw peanuts . Not certain this is working – I have even fatter squirrel and less money as I am spending it all on feeding the starving creatures . Before their nightly dinner party , I was able to get a few shots of their food . I took this dead reckoning with : Fuji f100fs — f/4 — 1/2″ — ISO100 — 31 millimetre — +1 Exposure Compensation .

Knock on Wood
I inhabit in Des Moines , IA . We ’ve had a passably meek wintertime so far ( KNOCK ON WOOD ) , and this past weekend had a splendiferous 50 degree day . It ’s really fun to see everyone get outside immediately when it set out near 50 during the winter time of year . This happens everywhere in the upper midwest , and Iowa is no exception . Went to Grey ’s Lake just to the south of downtown Des Moines , and while I was initially looking to pullulate some eagles with my A5100 with an old motion-picture show 70 - 210 mm genus Lens , I make out across these decent empty trees instead . Captured something simple to go with the uncomplicated pleasure of being outside .

San Francisco’s Grand Canyon
My technique was to just try out and get as nigh as I could to fill the integral frame while retaining direction . I desire a few unlike texture which I becharm with the wetness from the H2O , the layers of peeled metal , and roughness of the fling . The craters look so late up close that it remind me of the Grand Canyon for some cause . holidaymaker are too focussed on induce the Golden Gate Bridge that they never stop to notice the beauty in little details like this . Just shows that female parent nature can break dance down anything we build up , no matter how sturdy we think it is and farsighted it will last . Being an SF local , I was showing my out of township cousin the bridge circuit , ( of form ) and I noticed these rusted chains . I took a photo of it on my phone and Instagrammed it .

Stucco Button
So … for this one I busted out my M3 and appease nigh to plate . What you ’re seeing is my buzzer surrounded by stucco . I hold off until I had a skillful rest of igniter across our entryway and am rather pleased with how fine the stucco detail turned out , seeing as I could n’t focus the lens any closer than 1 meter forth .

This grain is the screen in my toilet window . It ’s surprisingly refreshing to have a window in front of my sump rather of a mirror . It ’s overnice to seem outside rather that at myself while I brush my tooth . Helps take my mind to a respectable spot .
